Angel Investing and Other Funding Sources

Description: This seminar provides insight into the world of angel investing. It will focus on key requirements for consideration, how the process works, pros and cons, and who might qualify for this type of funding.� It will also touch upon related types of funding, in particular venture capital and private equity, contrasting the different perspectives of each.

Seminar Leader: The seminar will be led by�Dave Plucinsky.� Dave has 35 years of domestic and international business experience. Prior to returning to the USA in late 2008, he spent 20 years working and living in London, England, the last 12 years as a self employed consultant. During this period Dave worked primarily with start-up companies and turn-around situations. In certain of these situations, he was an investor and/or represented investment groups, in others Dave acted in a consultancy role. His experience includes working with companies operating in the USA, EU, Far East and Australia.

How to Finance Your Small Business

Description: This seminar provides information on loans available to small businesses.

Seminar Leader: Nathalia Giraldo, Director of Financial Programs, Regional Business Assistance Corporation (RBAC). RBAC is a private non-profit organization formed in 1981 to provide loans to small business owners to both new and existing small business in New Jersey. RBAC�s mission is to provide loan capital and business mentoring to small business owners that cannot access more conventional bank financing. All RBAC loan programs can be, and often are used in partnership with other lenders for larger loan amounts.

Legal and Tax Considerations When Forming a Small Business

Description: This seminar will define Intellectual Property (IP) and discuss how to protect and enforce your IP in today�s business climate. IP is a key investment consideration for angel and VC investors, as well as government grantors.

Business Tax Issues

Winning Sales Proposals

Description: This seminar will discuss the functions of a sales proposal, whether it is for services to a family (e.g. elder care) or a major corporation. It discusses the objectives, scope, organization and content of the proposal and how it can be used to strengthen the overall sales opportunity with the prospect. The proposal can be as short as a �letter� or as long as a lengthy document intended to close the sale with a large corporation.

Seminar Leader: This seminar will be led by Phil Rhodes. Phil worked in the consulting and software industries for over 40 years. He was a member of a sales team in IBM's data processing division, whose sales force was famous for its effectiveness. As a Senior Manager in the consulting division of Price Waterhouse, he had important sales responsibilities. Phil later became a product manager with MAI Basic Four, where he had product planning and marketing responsibilities for two major ERP systems, working closely with Sales in both training and sales support roles.
